چکیده

A network belongs to the monotone separable class if its state variables are homogeneous and monotone functions of the epochs of the arrival process. This framework contains several classical queueingnetworkmodels, includinggeneralized Jacksonnetworks, maxplus networks, polling systems, multiserver queues, and various classes of stochastic Petri nets. We use comparison relationships between networks of this class with independent and identically distributed driving sequences and the GI/GI/1/1 queue to obtain the tail asymptotics of the stationary maximal dater under light-tailed assumptions for service times. The exponential rate of decay is given as a function of a logarithmic moment generating function. We exemplify an explicit computation of this rate for the case of queues in tandem under various stochastic assumptions.

Tail Asymptotics for the Supremum of an Independent Subadditive Process, with Applications to Monotone-separable Networks

Tail asymptotics for the supremum of an independent subadditive process are obtained as a function of the logarithmic moment generating function. We use this analysis to obtain large deviations results for queueing networks in their stationary regime. In the particular case of (max,plus)-linear recursions, the rate of exponential decay of the stationary solution can be explicitly computed.

Moments and tails in monotone-separable stochastic networks

A network belongs to the monotone separable class if its state variables are homogeneous and monotone functions of the epochs of the arrival process. This framework, which was first introduced to derive the stability region for stochastic networks with stationary and ergodic driving sequences, is revisited. It contains several classical queueing network models, including generalized Jackson net...

Convergence rates in monotone separable stochastic networks

We study bounds on the rate of convergence to the stationary distribution in monotone separable networks which are represented in terms of stochastic recursive sequences. Monotonicity properties of this subclass of Markov chains allow us to formulate conditions in terms of marginal network characteristics. Two particular examples, generalized Jackson networks and multiserver queues, are conside...

In the context of communication networks, the framework of stochastic event graphs allows a modeling of control mechanisms induced by the communication protocol and an analysis of its performances. We concentrate on the logarithmic tail asymptotics of the stationary response time for a class of networks that admit a representation as (max,plus)-linear systems in a random medium. We are able to ...
